Scandinavian Road Trip

In May 2017 my boyfriend, Jason, and I took a road trip through Scandinavia. Beginning in Copenhagen with our trusty Skoda Octavia Wagon we wound our way up the fjords past the Arctic Circle to Tromsø and back down to Denmark via Sweden. We mostly stayed with Jason’s family in Norway but in between we booked Airbnbs and camped, utilizing the “Right to Roam”. Traveling through Scandinavia in May, you are caught between two seasons. Winter is melting, so waterfalls are abundent. The green lush scenery is just reemerging. The days are rapidly getting longer and past the Arctic Circle, you can find the Midnight Sun. These photographs are an homage to our experience driving through Scandinavia, encountering vast wilderness and solitude unlike anything we had experienced before.
